'Plus' survey training materials
To support countries in carrying out 'plus' surveys, we have created an 'addendum' to our 'standard' Tropical Data Training manual to support training and coordination efforts. The following manual is to train grader and recorders in the additional elements required for 'plus' surveys, and to certify new team members in their specimen collection capacity, including 'DBS collectors' and/or 'tubers.'
The addendum is to be used alongside the 'standard' manual and not in isolation. Similar to our other training manuals, there are a suite of powerpoints to go with this addendum. Please contact us directly if you are planning training and would like access to the full suite of materials.
A wide range of partners generously shared their resources, experience and expertise to help Tropical Data prepare to offer routine support for ‘plus’ surveys, including the development of these additional materials. A full list of these contributors can be found in the acknowledgements section of the manual. During the course of 2025 we are working to further refine these materials as more and more countries pilot them and provide feedback. Below, we provide the most up-to-date version of the addendum.
